CAIT demands for ban of Battlegrounds Mobile India in the country. It has been reported that the app has been breaching the privacy policy and sending user data to China.
After the ban of Pubg Mobile in India, the Battlegrounds Mobile India is becoming of the most awaited games of 2021. Though it was not yet officially launched in the country, it was made available for download and play via an Early Access program. The govt has banned Pubg India because of privacy concerns. Thus the brand came up with a new game for the users with a privacy policy that cant affect it, but reports claim that the game is breaching the terms.
As indicated in the privacy policy, all the user data is being stored in the servers located in India & Singapore with a hint that it may transfer user data to other countries for continuous operation. Though the policy was written a lot based on the Indian Govt norms, a recent study reported that the data is being sent and received from servers in China, Hong Kong, the USA, and Russia – IGN India. This clearly indicates that the game developers overruling their promises that they will cut all ties with China to make a comeback in India.
Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) writing a letter to Union IT and Communication Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad to demand a ban of Battlegrounds Mobile India in the country. Even CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal has tweeted about the concern & tagged IT Minister demanding the immediate ban of the game.
