Nokia rolls out Android 8.1 update for the Nokia 8

The Android 8.1 Stable update started rooling out on Nokia 8 with Feburary Security Patches

Nokia’s midrange flagship the Nokia 8 got released in October 2017. The company assured its customers that the phone will get Android Oreo updates soon. To keep up it’s wording The Nokia 8 started beta testing Android 8.0 Oreo a few weeks ago. and now HMD Global has finally started rolling out the Android 8.1 Oreo update to Nokia 8.

To be noted, Nokia 8 became the first smartphone to get Android 8.1 update apart from Google’s Nexuses and Pixel. The new update weighs 1562.7MB in size which carries a version V4.84A.  The update also brings February security patch along with all the small and large improvements of Android 8.1.  The most important of those are new settings menu, revamped power menu, Bluetooth Battery percentage display, possibility to continue restoring a backup after the initial setup and so on.

Now HMD Global is rumored to launch a lot of new smartphones at the upcoming MWC 2018 event in Barcelona, and most of them are expected to arrive with Android 8.1 Oreo version out of the box.
